Each patient carries his own doctor inside him. They come to us not knowing that truth. We are at our best when we give the doctor who resides within each patient a chance to go to work.
~Dr. Albert Schweitzer
Living inside me is a great knowing doctor, a healer. Am I giving this doctor a chance to work? When I am afraid, in panic I rush about looking for something to take, looking for someone to do something, always looking outside myself. When I act out of my fear, the doctor within can’t help me because I’m not present. The doctor is in but the patient is out.
When I calm down, when I relax and breathe, when I center myself and bring my attention back to me, my healer can go to work.
Sometimes, slowing down is all we need to do. Other times, we may need to do. Other times, we may need to ask the healer in us for advice. We may feel awkward at first. Like any relationship, it takes time to build trust, but, after awhile, we’ll both be very comfortable with each other.
