One of my most favorite parts of summer is being barefoot. Even better is being barefoot in the grass and intentionally inhaling and exhaling, gathering and releasing. I invite you to try this practice – my favorite times are first thing in the morning and at sunset.
First, I connect with the vibrations of the earth and dig my feet into the ground. I let my toes become buried in the shoots of grass and get dirty with soil.
I spread my toes, lengthen my whole body and breathe deeply pulling energy from the earth up to my lungs and through the crown of my head.
I release from the crown of my head through my lungs to the earth all that no longer serves me. I release it to be composted back into the ground.
Then, I repeat for however long I need to.
Sometimes, I will even wind up laying down in the grass, looking up at the sky and feeling both dizzy and grounded, balancing the ebb and flow of life.
What can you gather and release as you sink your toes into the grass?
