Consulting and training
I have built two organizations from nothing and made most of the mistakes available in both.
In 2011 I founded Omaha Integrative Care because the model of care I believed in did not exist in Nebraska and someone had to make it. In 2023 I co-founded Dignity in Healing Collective, because the clinical work kept running into a wall that was not clinical: there are not enough well-trained, well-supported providers, and the pipeline that should produce them is broken.
You cannot deliver humane care from inside a dehumanizing structure. That is not a philosophy. It is the operating constraint I have run into every year I have been doing this, and most of what I now know is about working with it rather than against it.
What I do
- Practice design and start-up
- Building an integrative or independent practice that can actually survive its own first three years. Model, staffing, structure, and the parts nobody tells you about.
- Trauma-informed workforce development
- Curriculum, training, and supervision structures that keep good clinicians from leaving the field. This is what Dignity in Healing Collective was built to do.
- Collective leadership
- Self-management and distributed authority, taught by someone who runs organizations that way and can tell you where it breaks.
- Facilitation
- Retreats, difficult conversations, and the meetings that have gone sideways twice already.
